A Brief Campus Ministry Update

A short Campus Ministry Update.

Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for your prayers and support of what God is doing through the Canadian Campus Ministry. Here is a brief update and a few urgent prayer requests for 3 outreaches that we will be doing over the next 2 days.

This week is Jesus Week at SFU. Our theme this year is “Jesus & Culture.” After a week of heavy promotion we are presenting a lecture by Christian Philosopher Michael Horner (www.michaelhorner.com) asking/addressing the Question, “Who did Jesus think he was anyway?” The lecture will be today at 12:30pm at SFU. There is also a display set up in the center of the university that addresses 8 of the most common misconceptions of Jesus that will be up all week.

We will also be presenting “Porn Nation, The naked Truth” (www.bravehearts.net) at the University of Calgary this evening and the University of Saskatchewan tomorrow afternoon. Porn Nation is a multi media outreach that addresses the affects of living in our Hyper-Sex Culture. Last week we presented it at the University of Alberta, over 300 students attended and 8 prayed to receive Christ!

I (Gary) have been producing a series of videos for Youtube and Myspace to be used in conjunction of the Porn Nation outreach. They are being launched over the next few days as a follow up tool for the Porn Nation events in Canada. Please keep in mind that these videos are geared towards reaching a secular audience and that they are dealing with sexuality.

Three quick prayer requests:

1. Please pray that our good and gracious God will use each of these outreaches to draw hundreds of students into a fruitful relationship with him.

2. Please pray that God would empower each of our students to invite their friends out to the outreaches and share the Gospel with their friends.

3. Please pray for strength and health for Lynda as we are expecting our next child at the end of March!
