A prayer request from Nicaragua

Hello everyone,

As most of you know, God initially called me into the Campus Ministry through getting involved with a short term project in Nicaragua. I lived there from April 2000 until April 2002. It was an incredible time in my life as I experienced God continuously work through the ministry in amazing ways. God Blessed the Campus Ministry and many other outreaches that I was involved with as I witnessed hundreds of students come to faith.

God has called two of my student leaders into full time ministry there. It has been very encouraging to hear the reports of what God is doing through Angel and Junior as they continue to reach students through the Campus Ministry.

I just received this update and prayer request from Junior who is concerned about the outcome of the election. The fear is if the former Sandinista Leader wins, there may be negative repercussions from Norht America. (As he was the former enemy in the long bloody civil war)

Here is Junior's email and prayer request:

Dear Friends!

thank you so much for your prayers about the elections here in Nic. let me tell you that for now we do not have a official call from the electoral gov about who is the winner. right now there have been four reports of the counting and in all of them Daniel Ortega is winning, yesterday the last report was for 60% of the votes and today will be given the final report and declaration of the winner if there is one. it might happen that we will have second round of the two first candidate Daniel and Eduardo Montealegre and I hope this happen cuase as you know if Daniel wins there would be lot of problems in the country not just in the political field but also in the economical and also the inmigrations problems. i do not know about the US gov what would they do if Daniel wins but i pray that you would have the freedom to come back to Nic and keep showing Christ to the needy.

it´s been said that if Daniel wins we would not have any help coming from the US and also the money transfer from the nNicaraguanfamilies in the US to Nic. lot of textiles will closed because of the broken relationship with US which this will bring more unemployment and poverty. right now there is a heavy air everywhere and for sure if Daniel wins i do not know what would be the future of Nic. today we will have the final report and we will know who is the winner. Please I urge you to keep praying for Nicaragua and for the future of our people.

there have been four reports and all of them said that Daniel was winning. pray and do not stop to pray till we know that we are free from the enemy.

i will send you more info as soon as we know.

May God Bless us all.

Here is a very interesting link from the news about Spiritual revival in Nicaragua as well as the current election tensions.

Thanks for keeping Nicaragua in your prayers.

Dios te bendiga, (Dod Bless you)
